What if every town in the United States one day looks exactly the same? When people living in a particular town are able to dig up their roots, move their persons and their possessions anywhere across this country, and begin new lives in a new town without noticing a single change, undoubtedly some inestimable greatness will have been lost. When every city and small town becomes strewn with the same restaurants, the same banks, the same golf courses and resorts, where will we go for change and fresh perspective? When our nation's past becomes enveloped by the restless tides of our unceasing future, where will we find ourselves, and will we be happy with where we stand? The following photographs depict Roslyn, Washington as I was fortunate enough to see and experience it before the arrival of Trendwest and the impact of its imminent, massively conceived MountainStar Resort.
